OPRA Request for Original Reports and Audit Trail Information – Highland Park Public Borough (New Jersey OPRA)
Dear Highland Park Borough,
In accordance with the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), I hereby request access to certain public records. I previously received copies of fire department reports covering the past ten years; however, I have noted several discrepancies between the report titles and the content within the remarks sections. Specifically, I have observed inconsistencies in the incident type and the narrative remarks.
To further investigate these discrepancies, I respectfully request that you provide:
1. The original version of the fire department reports, as they were initially compiled prior to any modifications or corrections.
2. The complete audit trail or metadata related to any changes made to these reports, including details such as:
• The specific modifications made,
• The individual(s) who made these changes, and
• The dates and times when the changes were executed.
If the aforementioned information is available and does not fall under any exemptions provided by the OPRA statute, please include it in your response. I believe that the original documents and the corresponding audit trail are necessary to verify the accuracy and integrity of these records.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
