With regards to "open/closed permits" and "violations", for your
convenience, the Construction Official’s Office has indicated that the
requested permit records, as well as inspections, code cases, violations,
licenses, fire, zoning, etc., are available on-line and may be located on
the www.jcnj.org/permitportal where you can register and research any
property in Jersey City.  Please note that any permit prior to the latter
part of 2006, based upon the NJ Permit extension act, will be deemed
abandoned; after that it is considered open; to close the permit it will
require an inspection. 
 
With regards to "outside fines, judgments and liens on the
property", please be advised the City does not maintain such records.  You
need to submit your request to the Hudson County Registrar's Office.
 
With regards to "any surveys on record", please be advised the City does
not maintain survey records, nor does the City surveys any property,
unless it is a City-owned property.  Therefore, no records exist.  You
will need to retain your own surveyor.
 
Lastly, for information pertaining to water, sewers and/or septic
systems, please be advised the City does not maintain any
water/septic/sewer records. We suggest that you contact the following
