Dear Chatham Borough,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

Pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.), I am requesting copies of any civil court complaints, notices of claim, or settlements in which Chatham Borough Police Officer Jeffrey Battiloro was named as a party, either individually or in his official capacity, from January 1, 2015, to the present.

Please include:

-The case caption (names of parties)
-The docket or case number
-The court where the matter was filed
-The disposition or outcome, if known or recorded by the Borough

If any portion of this request is denied, please identify the specific legal basis for the denial and indicate whether any responsive records can be provided in redacted form pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g).

In response to your narrowed follow-up OPRA request for copies of "civil
court complaints, notices of claim, or settlements in which Chatham
Borough Police Officer Jeffrey Battiloro was named as a party, either 
individually or in his official capacity, from January 1, 2015, to the
present," the Borough has located no responsive records.  Accordingly, the
Borough considers this request closed.
