The Township of Scotch Plains received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
request on May 21, 2025.  However, your OPRA cannot be completed until the
below certification is received.  

 

On June 5, 2024, Governor Murphy signed into law significant OPRA reform
legislation [P.L. 2024, c. 16]  The law became effective September 3,
2024.

Part of the new law requires that OPRA requests sent by email-without the
official form- must contain all the elements of the official form.

 

As a courtesy, we are asking you to complete the three certification
questions below, in order to make your email OPRA request a valid OPRA
request. Please reply to this email with the completed certification
questions,

OR  You can also use the attached revised OPRA request form and resubmit
your OPRA requests.

 

Under penalty of NJSA 2C:28-3, I certify that:

 

 1. I  HAVE/HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the
laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

 

 2. I, or another person, WILL/WILL NOT use the requested government
records for a commercial purpose.
