OPRA Request: Board Member Emails on 5756

Dear Ms. Doe,
In accordance with NJSA 47:1A-1.1 et seq, I am the Custodian of Records for the Howell Township Public Schools, and I am in receipt of your OPRA request dated 10/28/2023 and received on 10/30/2023. I directed the IT department to search the district email system based on the parameters indicated and will be reviewing the result of that search to determine the need for any redactions. In accordance with GRC guidance those redactions will necessitate printing of the documents for review, redacting (blacking out), recording and reprinting those records for scanning and production in response to your request. The initial search returned over 1,700 instances which fit the parameters in your request. In accordance with NJSA 47:1A-1.1 there would be a charge of $170 (.05/copy, 3400 copies required) for this if that is the limit of the search.
I have also asked all current board members to search any other email platform utilized for any board business and either identify that none exist or produce those emails for similar treatment.
Please advise whether you authorize the estimated amount of $170 and how you would like me to proceed. If I am to proceed, please also consider this to be an extension from the initial 7 day period (which would have been Nov. 8, 2023).
