OPRA Request
Dear Bloomfield Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
1. A list of properties that, as of today, have delinquent property taxes and open property liens. If the property owner currently has an unpaid tax balance or has an open lien on the property, please add them to the list. This list needs to include amounts of balances owed.
2. A list of properties that have received any code violations since the beginning of the year. Please provide type of violation.
3. A list of all properties that are currently vacant or abandoned. If the property used to be vacant and no longer is, please do not include.
4. A list of all residential properties that have gone into probate since the beginning of the year.
Please put all lists in separate Excel files. PDF is okay too. If up-to-date data is not available, please provide the most recently available information.

The Township of Bloomfield received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
Request on November 25, 2020. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline
to respond to your request is December 8, 2020. This response to your
request is being provided to you on the 7^th business day after the
Township’s receipt of said request.
The following records are being provided in their entirety and are the
ONLY documents in the Township’s possession responsive to your request:
1. From the Township’s Building Department (Excel files) – Zoning
and Building Violations
2. From the Township’s Fire Department (2 pages) – Vacant
properties.
3. From the Township’s Tax and Water Department (Excel file) –
Delinquent Taxes.
These records are being transmitted to you via email, as per your request.
If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfulfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the Township of Bloomfield to deny
access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey, or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form.

The GRC can also answer other questions about the law. All questions
