This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
A list of properties that currently have delinquent taxes, open property liens, and code violations (including vacant properties). This list should also include amounts of balances owed and the type of violation related to each particular property.
All Request Years 2018 to 2020
Description of Information Requested:
1.Tax Account Delinquent Report
2.Detailed Lien Status Report
3.Residential code enforcement violations currently active and pending that include:
• Residential Structures that are vacant and open to trespass
• Residential Properties with grass or weeds in excess of the city’s height limit
• Residential Structures without a current city certificate of occupancy
• Residential Properties on the cities vacant property registry (if applicable)

Good morning,
In response to your OPRA request #606, please see attached for a list of tax delinquent properties as of today, 7/28/2020, along with a detailed lien status report from 2018-2020, as requested. All delinquent taxes prior to 2020 have been converted to tax liens due to our accelerated tax sale. Please contact this office with any questions.

City Hall will remain closed to the Public during third quarter collection period however all City departments are working diligently to provide the information you need via email and by phone. Third quarter due date remains August 1st – payment must be received in our office by August 10th to avoid interest. You may pay online, use our secure drive thru payment drop box or the US Mail.
NOTE: THE CITY OF HACKENSACK HAS IMPLEMENTED A NO CASH POLICY. PLEASE DO NOT BRING CASH TO THE TAX OFFICE. USE OUR SECURE DRIVE THRU PAYMENT DROP BOX LOCATED OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY EXITING STATE STREET OPEN 24/7 OR PAY ONLINE.
Property taxes may be paid online by visiting our website at hackensack.org/tax and click on the link under “View and pay property taxes online.” Use ACH-echeck for only $1.05 fee however you may also pay by debit or credit card. Be aware of the third party convenience fees prior to accepting your transaction as they cannot be reversed once approved.
