RE: OPRA Request – Body Worn Camera (BWC) Footage from DWI Incident on June 2, 2024
Dear Custodian of Records,
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I am requesting access to the following government record:
• Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage and any related video or audio recordings pertaining to a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) incident that occurred in Orange, New Jersey on June 2, 2024.
If available, please include the date, time, and location of the incident, as well as the identity of the officers involved (if such information is deemed a public record).
Please note that under New Jersey law, a person making an OPRA request is not required to identify themselves or state a reason for the request. As such, this request is being submitted anonymously, as permitted by law.
If the requested records are not available in electronic format, I am willing to accept paper copies. Please advise of any fees before fulfilling this request. If access to any part of the requested records is denied, please provide the legal basis for the denial as required by OPRA.

Dear Orange City,
I am writing to request an internal review of Orange City's handling of my OPRA request 'OPRA Request'.
I am writing to follow up on my Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request submitted on 04/09/2025, which, under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., requires a response within seven (7) business days.
As of today, 4/16/2025, the statutory time frame has passed, and I have not yet received the requested records or a formal response explaining the delay. Please be advised that under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(i), a failure to respond within the statutory period is considered a denial of access.
I respectfully request an immediate update regarding the status of my request. If additional time is needed due to the volume or nature of the records, please provide a written explanation and a specific date by which the records will be made available, as outlined in the law.
If I do not receive a response within [reasonable time frame, e.g., 3 business days], I may be compelled to seek further remedies, including filing a complaint with the Government Records Council or pursuing relief in Superior Court.
