OPRA Request
Dear Lyndhurst Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Fire Damage List
- A list of all property addresses that the fire department has received an emergency call to in the last 90 days.
Code Violation
- A list of property addresses that have received any code violations in the last 6 months
Vacant List
- A list of all properties that the city deems to be currently vacant or abandoned.
Yours faithfully,
Nathan
Mr. Stallone,
With regard to your OPRA request received on August 26, 2024, please note
that for your requested item #1, your request is too broad and cannot be
answered in the manner in which it was received. Fire calls are logged in
the system per the type of fire, therefore a report cannot be generated
for "all calls" in the 90 day period requested. You would need to specify
the type of fire. Also, not all calls are emergencies and reported via
911.
A report responsive for your requested item #2 is attached.
With regard to your requested item #3, the Township does not maintain any
document responsive to this request, and therefore none is being provided.
OPRA defines a “government record” as any paper or other tangible material
that has been made, maintained or kept on file in the course of the public
entity’s official business. N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1.
Regards,
Deana McCann

Dear Deana McCann,
Can you give me an example of a type of fire? I'm thinking like building fires...would that work?
Yours sincerely,
Nathan
