Records requested:
1. Total number of body cameras currently deployed in the police department.
2. Date on which body cameras were deployed to any of the police officers for the first time (year and month).
3. Invoice of body cameras purchase (if body cameras were purchased).
Yours faithfully,
Taeho Kim
Good morning,
Your OPRA Request has been received. As a result of the ongoing pandemic,
the Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) was recently amended to address the
processing of OPRA requests during a public emergency. Pursuant to the
new law, “a custodian of record shall make a reasonable effort, as the
circumstances permit, to respond to a request for access to a government
record within 7 business days or as soon as possible thereafter.” Please
be advised that all our staff is presently working remotely with limited
access to City documents and records and will make a reasonable effort to
satisfy your request. However, you should expect a complete response to
your request after the expiration of this emergency and resumption of the
Clerk’s Office to normal working conditions.
Thank you,
David M. Guarino, Captain
