Good afternoon:

This email is in reply to your request #049-2020 received in my office on
May 26, 2020 for information in that you ask for the following:

“1. Total number of body cameras currently deployed in the police
department.

2. Date on which body cameras were deployed to any of the police officers
for the first time (year and month).

3. Invoice of body cameras purchase (if body cameras were purchased)”.

Upper Township does not have a municipal police department. Police
coverage for Upper Township is provided by the New Jersey State Police.
Upper Township is not the custodian of the requested records items #1 thru
#3 and does not possess them.

I do however have the contact information for the NJ State Police Division
Headquarters which I have provided below:

New Jersey State Police
Per my conversation with the Station Commander at the New Jersey State
Police Woodbine Barracks, all OPRA requests have to go through the
Division HQ in West Trenton.
The telephone number is 609-882-2000.
That is the main line in, they will have all the procedures to follow
regarding this request.
