OPRA - police officer-involved lawsuits 2012-2019

We're waiting for Taeho Kim to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Red Bank Borough,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.

Records requested:

1. A list of all lawsuits and cases in which any officer of the police department was involved between 2012 and 2019. For each lawsuit/case, please provide the date (month and year) of the alleged incident at issue, whether the alleged incident was excessive force, settlement amount (if any), and final compensation amount ruled (if any).

2. Please provide copies of the complaint in any lawsuits and cases described in above.

Yours faithfully,

UC Research

This email is to acknowledge receipt of your OPRA request dated 5/27/2020
and received via email on 5/28/2020.  This response is being provided on
the fifth business day after the receipt of your request.  I have
forwarded your request to our insurance carrier and they have responded
that they will need additional time to complete this request.  They have
cited the following reasons that we are requesting a 30 day extension to
fill this request:  "We are getting multiple OPRA requests throughout the
State of NJ and need time to pull these records together.  Some of these
records are in an off-site storage facility.  We are also working with a
greatly reduced office support staff due to the pandemic."  For these
reasons , we are requesting an extension through 7/6/2020.

Thank you.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

This is a follow up to my previous email regarding your recent
OPRA request. Thank you for agreeing to the extension.
Attached please find document(s) in response to your recent OPRA
request.  To the best of my knowledge, no other records exist that would
be responsive to your request.  If you are aware of a specific document
that you believe has been omitted, please clearly identify that record by
name, date and subject matter.
This will close this OPRA request.
