Dear Requestor,
The Township of Lakewood received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
request on 8/2/2024. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to
respond to your request is 8/13/2024. This response to your request is
being provided to you before the first business day after the custodian's
receipt of said request.
Please be advised that due to the file size of the requested audio/video
records it may exceed email capacity. Therefore, the records will be
transmitted by CD or Flash Drive which a cost will be associated with your
request. The cost may range from $0.37 (regular DVD/CD) to $16.99 (64GB
thumb drive) and an additional $4.75 for postage.
At this time, please clarify your request and respond in writing
confirming you will pay the fee associated with the request.
If you reject the fee or no response is received, it will be determined
that you are not interested in the requested records.
If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the Township of Lakewood to deny
access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form.
You may contact the GRC by toll-free telephone at 866-850-0511, by mail at
P.O. Box 819, Trenton, NJ, 08625, by e-mail at [email address], or at
their website at www.state.nj.us/grc. The GRC can also answer other
questions about the law. All questions regarding complaints filed in
Superior Court should be directed to the Court Clerk in your County.
