Open Records Request – Dashcam/BWC Footage & Police Report

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally request the following records pursuant to the Open Records Act:

This request is for DASHCAM and BWC video footage from the first two squads on scene, as well as any subsequent BWC video related to the arrest of the primary suspect in this case. (For clarity, this request is being made in accordance with open records statutes governing the release of such data.)

In addition to the requested video footage, please provide the police report from the primary officer or the probable cause statement. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) may be excluded, though the narrative is crucial for understanding the circumstances surrounding the arrest.

If your agency does not utilize body-worn cameras, please let us know so we can adjust our request accordingly. We may cancel the request if body cameras were not in use at the time of the incident.
(Exception: We still request state trooper dash cam footage if applicable.)

EXCLUDED FROM THIS REQUEST:

Please exclude any portions of footage containing personally identifiable information (PII).
Exclude segments where minors are visible.
Exclude any content involving nudity, explicit material, or graphic content (please blur, redact, or cut these portions as needed).
You may exclude any other footage at your discretion.
PREFERRED DOWNLOAD FORMAT:
Please provide the requested records in a digital format, preferably via email or a secure file-sharing platform (e.g., Evidence.com, iCrimeFighter, Box.com, etc.). This method will ensure quicker access and avoid the delays associated with paper-based requests.
