Open Records Request
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Under the Public Records Act, I am formally requesting to receive a list of all residential properties that have had Code Enforcement violations issued to the property between the dates of 1/1/2020 and 05/05/2021. Please provide the type of violation.
Please provide requested records in Excel format if available.
If up-to-date data is not available, please provide the most recently available information.
Please include a Record Index with your response.
*A record index that identifies each record requested and the specific legal basis for a denial of access (including redactions) to each record.
Thank you,
Jack Smith
Consistent with the State of New Jersey's most recent directive regarding
OPRA requests, please be advised that the satutory deadline (7 business
days) does not apply during this current State of Emergency. Consistent
with said directive, however, Bayonne's
custodian of government records shall make a reasonable effort, as the
circumstances permit, to respond to a request for access to a government
record within seven business days or as soon as possible thereafter.
Given our current reduced staffing levels during this State of Emergency,
we will endeavor to have your request answered as soon as possible, but we
project that certain requests will take up to 30 days to fulfill. Thank
you for your understanding and patience.
Hello Jack, regarding Code Enforcements violations are you referring to Building construction violations or violations such as uncontrolled weeds on property etc.

Dear Christina,
Thanks for the fast response,
In my request, I am referring to code violations such as building with unsafe conditions, Illegal units, Illegal construction (when built without a permit), dilapidated, and uncontrolled weeds, etc.
And not referring to code violations during construction for a property when being built legally with a permit.
I'm sorry for not clarifying before.
Yours sincerely,
Jack Smith
