Dear Marlboro Township Police Department,

Dear Marlboro Township Police Department,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Open Public Records Act reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Marlboro Township Police Department's handling of my OPRA request 'Officer James Caulfield retiring early due to being undisciplined in racist text scandal'.
Please accept this correspondence as a formal request for review regarding the failure of your department to provide a timely response to my Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request, in accordance with the statutory requirements set forth under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
On or about April 29, 2025, Lt. Bilinski requested an extension of seven (7) additional days to respond to my records request. Pursuant to that extension, a response was due no later than May 9, 2025. As of the date of this writing, the requested records have not been produced, nor has any further communication been received explaining the continued delay.
This failure to respond constitutes a gross violation of the OPRA statutory timeframes and obligations, and I respectfully request that your office immediately review this matter and take all necessary actions to ensure full and prompt compliance with the law.
Should this issue remain unresolved, I reserve all rights available to me under OPRA, including but not limited to initiating legal action and seeking attorney’s fees and costs as provided by statute.
