New Year's Eve Burglaries
Dear Washington Township (Gloucester),
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
My name is Chris Van Cleef, a producer with Black Note Studios. We are producing Don’t Open the Door, a documentary series for Warner Bros. / Discovery about crimes and frightening encounters captured by residential doorbell and home-security cameras. The series also highlights the importance of home-security systems and their value as evidence for law enforcement.
We are researching the December 31, 2025 burglary and two attempted residential burglaries in the Freedom Road, Valley Run Drive and Constitution Road area of Washington Township.
Pursuant to New Jersey OPRA and the common-law right of access, I am requesting:
Complete, unedited Ring/home-security footage obtained by police relating to all three incidents.
911/CAD and dispatch records.
Body-worn camera footage from responding officers.
Incident, supplemental and investigative reports.
Relevant evidence photographs/video.
Records reflecting whether the suspect was subsequently identified, arrested or charged.
Electronic delivery is preferred. If material is withheld or redacted, please provide all releasable portions and identify the applicable exemption.
Please contact me with a cost estimate before processing if fees exceed $100.
Thank you,
Chris Van Cleef
