Dear Monmouth County Sheriff's Office,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
All 911 calls made that were relayed to the town of Neptune City for the time period January 1, 2020 - February 12, 2024. Identify nature of emergency and what departments were dispatched, please include date and time.
All non-911 calls made that were relayed to the town of Neptune City for the time period January 1, 2020 - February 12, 2024 requiring emergency dispatch. Identify nature of emergency and what departments were dispatched please include date and time.
The full town horn use log showing every time the horn was sounded in Neptune City, NJ from January 1, 2020- February 12, 2024.
The process through which the Sheriff's office is alerted to an emergency and when and for what purpose the county sheriff dispatcher uses town horns.
A complete list of towns in the county that your office dispatches emergencies with and which of them your office activates a town horn for in the process of emergency communication to town volunteers and emergency teams.
Other uses beyond calling a team to respond that your office activates the Neptune City town horn.
Yours peacefully,
PINC
Good Afternoon,
The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office is in receipt of your request.
The first portion of the request which entails (All 911 calls made that were relayed to the town of Neptune City for the time period January 1, 2020 - February 12, 2024. Identify nature of emergency and what departments were dispatched, please include date and time.
All non-911 calls made that were relayed to the town of Neptune City for the time period January 1, 2020 - February 12, 2024 requiring emergency dispatch. Identify nature of emergency and what departments were dispatched please include date and time) is voluminous/labor intensive and would incur a fee for the collection of data.
In regard to any information on horn use there are no documents responsive to the request since the MCSO does not activate horns. You would need to reach out to the towns.
Regards,
Cynthia Scott
Dear OPRA Requests,
I appreciate your response and am willing to pay the fee. Thank you for the information so far provided.
Yours peacefully,
PINC
You're welcome. It will take approximately five plus hours to collect the information. Under OPRA an employee who is capable of collecting the data at the lowest rate of pay per hour does so. In this case that would be the 9-1-1 Supervisor whose hourly rate is $55 per hour. If you multiply that by five, the fee would be $275. Would you like to proceed?
Dear OPRA Requests,
Thank you for the information, before moving ahead, can I ask the cost if the request is narrowed to the same question for the time period of September 1, 2023 - February 22, 2024?
Yours sincerely,
PINC
Good Afternoon,
That would take approximately two hours to process and the cost would be $110.
Regards,
Cynthia Scott
Dear OPRA Requests,
Thank you, I will move forward with the more narrow time frame.
Yours sincerely,
PINC
Sir,
We will go ahead and process your request then.
