National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cyber-Tips and Arrests
Dear Sussex County Prosecutor's Office,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested: The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office is a member of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and receives Cyber Tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for Cyber Tips that have been geo-located to Sussex County, New Jersey.
I am respectfully requesting you review your records and determine the number of NCMEC Cyber Tips received by the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office during the time period commencing January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019, the number of arrests made by the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office as a result of those Cyber Tips received during 2019, and the amount of grant funding received by the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office during 2019 for being a member of the NJ State Police ICAC Task Force. 2019 NCMEC Cyber tip reports received: 49
2019 cybertip arrests: 12
(Note: some arrests resulted in numerous cybertip reports received during this time period.)
New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children (NJICAC) funds from grants are not directly received by ICAC affiliated agencies. ICAC funds are distributed by use of equipment and or training. During 2019 NJICAC provided the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office with a dongle license for use with Magnet Forensics Axiom.
2019 NJICAC Training: no training received during this time period other than NJICAC Quarterly Meetings attended by the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office.
