MVA Incident involving Water Rescue
Dear Medford Lakes Borough,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
Records related to the March 8, 2026 motor vehicle crash / water rescue incident in Medford Lakes:
1. All 911 audio recordings related to the incident;
2. All 911 call logs and related call-detail records;
3. All CAD reports, dispatch notes, unit history, event chronology, radio transmission logs, and communication logs related to the incident;
4. All body-worn camera (BWC) footage recorded by any responding officer;
5. All dash camera, mobile video recorder (MVR), and in-car camera footage from any responding police vehicle;
6. Any fixed, exterior, station, parking lot, booking-area, or other agency-controlled surveillance footage depicting the incident, response, rescue, removal of the vehicle, or interaction with the driver;
7. Any associated audio tracks for the above recordings; and
8. Any records sufficient to identify responsive recordings, including video logs, evidence/property logs, chain-of-custody records, retention records, and deletion/destruction logs, if any responsive footage or audio is withheld, deleted, or no longer retained.

• Nature of incident: single-vehicle crash / water rescue involving a vehicle that left the roadway and entered Ballinger Lake

Please see below for the response to your OPRA request dated 3/18/26. The
answers are highlighted in red.
The request for BWC can be released, but it will require redactions. And
because of the extensive review time and modifications needed to render a
final product that request will incur a fee. The cost is $204.56. Payment
must be made before the redactions are completed. We accept cash or check
only, checks should be made payable to Medford Lakes Borough.
