Dear OPRA,
The exemption in law you provided has nothing to do with Opra. Provide the specific exemption in opra law for denial of this request, not the body camera policy.
Yours sincerely,
R Lord
Dear R. Lord:
Thank you for your email. The denial under OPRA is made pursuant to the
applicable law. To further assess your request under the common law,
additional information is required. Specifically, the relevant case law
requires a requestor seeking records under the common law to establish “a
specific interest in the subject matter of the material” that must be
weighed against those of the agency and the public at large. North Jersey
Media Group, Inc. v. Twp. of Lyndhurst, 229 N.J. 541, 578 (2017); see also
Loigman v. Kimmelman, 102 N.J. 98 (1986). In order to evaluate whether
disclosure of the requested records is appropriate under the common law,
please detail your interest in the requested materials within 10 days.

Dear OPRA,
The Mayor of Edison went on several news national news programs to
tell the public he ordered the police to get a bus and seize migrants and transport them back to the border.
“I had directed my police department, as well as my emergency management to charter a bus that would take them straight back to the other side of the border" 12/31/23 6:11 pm
This is Illegal, the public has a right to know what role NJ transit played in this newsworthy event I want to share this information with my audience, exercising my clear right of the press, a right that is clearly established by the supreme court to apply to all persons. I want to publish this news event to hundreds of fellow tax paying NJ voters and with policy makers and especially my legislator.
The public has a clear overwhelming interest in this body camera footage, the town of Edison attempted to deny the same body camera footage and they were just brought to court. The same incident the same request , The denial was clearly in violation of Opra, The public has a overwhelming interest to know if NJ transit police conspired to help the Edison police, in what might very well be a violation of Federal civil rights law title 18 242 deprivation of rights under the color of law.
The people of NJ have a interest in knowing if your agency complied with body camera policy in regards to this event.
Edison provided the body camera video, after a lawyer got involved. No difference. Why did the Edison police with the help of NJ transit kick a bunch of people out of town in defiance and contempt of every court in this country!!! We want to know!!
