The City has received your Request for records under the Open Public Records Act (OPRA). As you know, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), a health emergency currently exists and all City employees have been ordered to remain at home. Moreover, many other employees who have been classified as essential employees are performing these essential services from their homes through remote access. Due to the current health emergency, you should expect to experience delays, possibly significant delays, in the City being able to respond to your OPRA Request. However, be assured that the City will make an effort to respond as soon as possible.

Good afternoon,
In regards to your submitted OPRA request, our Department of Planning &
Development has advised that they do not maintain recordings of meetings.
The Department of Planning & Development has also advised that they will
need an extension of time to further process your OPRA request for
responsive documentation. The ETA is August 28^th.

Good afternoon,
The City has received your response to the City’s reasonable request for
an extension of your Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request until
8/28/2020 (an additional 7 business days). We regret to hear that you
find this extension unacceptable.
It is important for you to know that due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), a
State declared health emergency remains in effect. And while under the
declared State of emergency, the following provision applies as provided
for by N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(1), amended on March 20, 2020:
“During a period declared pursuant to the laws of this State as a state of
emergency, public health emergency, or state of local disaster emergency,
the deadlines by which to respond to a request for, or grant or deny
access to, a government record under paragraph (1) of this subsection or
subsection e. of this section shall not apply, provided, however that the
custodian of a government record shall make a reasonable effort, as the
circumstances permit, to respond to a request for access to a government
record within seven business days or as soon as possible thereafter.”
Please know that the City will continue to pursue addressing your OPRA by
the City's requested date of 8/28/2020.
