Maple Field GMAX Testing Records (Including August 13, 2026 Test)
Dear Ridgewood Village,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
The Village recently stated publicly:
**“Just to be clear, the Village of Ridgewood GMAX tested our only turf field at Maple Park on August 13th and the field passed.”**
**Records requested:**
Please provide the following records concerning the synthetic/artificial turf at **Maple Field/Maple Park** for the period **January 1, 2019 through August 28, 2026**:
1. The complete **August 13, 2026 GMAX test report** referenced in the Village's statement above, including all test results, raw data, individual testing-location measurements, maps/grids, applicable testing standard and pass/fail threshold, findings, recommendations, and the identity of the company/person that performed the testing.
2. All other **GMAX/G-Max testing reports, results, certificates, raw test data, testing-location maps or grids, findings, recommendations, and pass/fail determinations** for Maple Field during the requested period.
3. All proposals, quotes, invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and payment records for GMAX testing performed at Maple Field, including records identifying the vendor that performed each test.
4. All reports, recommendations, work orders, invoices, purchase orders, or other records documenting **maintenance, repair or remediation performed before or as a result of GMAX testing**, including grooming, brushing, decompaction, infill addition/replacement, cleaning, or other work intended to affect shock absorption or field hardness.
5. All records documenting any instance in which Maple Field **failed GMAX testing, exceeded an applicable GMAX threshold, required retesting, or was closed/restricted because of GMAX results or field hardness**.
6. All records identifying the **GMAX standard, specification, threshold, or pass/fail criteria** used by the Village or its contractors to determine that Maple Field passed its August 13, 2026 test and any prior GMAX testing.
