Dear Bloomfield Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
- A list of all property addresses that have an unpaid property tax bill. Please also include in the list or separately a list of properties whose property tax bill was liened against the property.
- A list of property addresses that have received any code violations since the beginning of the year. Please provide the type of violation. (ex. Garbage in yard, maintenance issue, overgrown lawn, safety issues, risk of condemnation, etc)
- A list of all property addresses that are currently vacant, abandoned, or boarded up.

The Township of Bloomfield received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
Request on October 3, 2022. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline
to respond to your request is October 13, 2022. This response to your
request is being provided to you on the 5^th business day after the
Township’s receipt of said request.
The following records are being provided in their entirety and are the
ONLY documents in the Township’s possession responsive to your request:
1. From the Township’s Building Department: Zoning and UCC Violations
Log.
2. From the Township’s Fire Department: Vacant Property List.
3. From the Township’s Health Department: Complaint Log.
4. From the Township’s Tax Department: Tax Spreadsheets,

These records are being transmitted to you via email, as per your request.
If your request for access to a government record has been denied or
unfulfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a
right to challenge the decision by the Township of Bloomfield to deny
access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the
Superior Court of New Jersey, or file a complaint with the Government
Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form.

The GRC can also answer other questions about the law. All questions
