This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Any and all investigation, arrest, incident and complaint reports (eCDR’s) related to the death of Robert May and the subsequent arrest of Anthony Collins. On September 18, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers of the Seaside Heights Police Department responded to the area of Central Ave. and Sumner Avenue for a report of a fall victim. A subsequent investigation by the Seaside Heights PD found the victim, Robert May, was assaulted by another individual later identified as Anthony Collins. On October 1, 2023, Mr May succumbed to his injuries and died. Anthony Collins was charged with Manslaughter. Included in this request would be any body warn camera coverage and recordings and any and all communications between members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Seaside Heights Police Department from the time period commencing on September 18, 2023 through August 10, 2024 related to this case.
