Dear Ocean County Prosecutor's Office,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested: The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office is a member of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and receives Cyber Tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for Cyber Tips that have been geo-located to Ocean County, New Jersey.
I am respectfully requesting you review your records and determine the number of NCMEC Cyber Tips received by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office during the time period commencing January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019, the number of arrests made by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office as a result of those Cyber Tips received during 2019, and the amount of grant funding received by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office during 2019 for being a member of the NJ State Police ICAC Task Force. I believe you do have the records I requested, that is, the number of NCMEC complaints, number of arrests made regarding those NCMEC complaints and the amount of grant money the OCPO received during 2019. Perhaps you were out of the office, but kindly refer to the respectful request for information regarding the arrest of Richard Knight on June 9, 2021 below which contains the same records I am requesting for 2019.
