We're waiting for Mister Howell to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Howell Township,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:

- Please provide attendance records for police employee Thomas Rizzo from October 1st, 2021 through November 1st, 2021. This is a request for entries made in the computerized attendance management system. This request includes all shifts worked, sick time, vacation time, union time, overtime, personal time, bereavement, administrative, training and all other attendance categories not specified yet entered.

- Who was the Chief of Howell Police in October 2021 who permitted Thomas Rizzo to teach at a Street Cop seminar where he taught police officers and stated the following “he or she, him, her, she, him, whatever the fuck you want to call people now” that they have “reimagined the hell” out of themselves. This quote is from the New Jersey Comptroller Report entitled "The High Price of Unregulated Private Police Training to New Jersey "

- Please provide attendance records for October 3, 2021 to October 8, 2021 where Thomas Rizzo worked for Street Cop which was investigated by the NJ Comptrollers Office.

- Who was the Chief of Howell Police in October 2021 that permitted Thomas Rizzo's outside employment to Street Cop.

Thank you for handling all of these OPRA requests.

Yours faithfully,

Mister Howell

Good Morning,

Please see attached attendance report, which accounts for all time off and
reasons listed. There is no overtime for this period. “[A]ll shifts
worked” are not being provided as schedules could be inferred. Due to the
safety and security exemption, police personnel and staffing schedules are
not permitted to be released as it could create a risk to the safety of
persons or property pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1. Redactions were made
to shift times based on this exemption as well. Finally, former Chief
Andrew Kudrick was the Chief of HTPD in October of 2021.

This completes your OPRA request.

Regards,

Xiomara Ortiz
