Information on Board Communication on Policy 5756
Dear Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

-Board communications, internally to Superintendent and Committees as well as with BOE attorney in regards to transgender policy 5756 as well as any discussions on policies or curriculum pertaining to LGBQT+ issues.
- Costs associated with use of Board attorney and money spent on issues pertaining to Policy 5756 as well as any discussions on policies or curriculum pertaining to LGBQT+ issues.
- Cost of retainer fee and cost per hour for BOE attorney

We are in receipt of your three OPRA requests; however your first request
has been denied for being overly broad pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g).
Please clarify specific time periods, key words and/or to/from individuals
in the communications you wish to request.
For the second request regarding costs associated with the Board Attorney
and money spent on issues related to policies, no such document exists.

was approved at our reorganization meeting on January 7, 2025.

Please restrict this to communications between Lucy Li, Jeremy Li, Steven Singer, Robert Beers and Douglas Silvestro. The dates would be between January 1, 2025 to March 15, 2025.
- Costs associated with use of Board attorney and money spent on issues pertaining to Policy 5756 as well as any discussions on policies or curriculum pertaining to LGBQT+ issues: to be clear, how many hours has the BOE attorney been called to attend to meeting involving this issue as requested by BOE President and/or Superintendent.

communications are deemed confidential attorney-client communication as
well as internal advisory, consultative and deliberative material, neither
of which is subject to production under OPRA.
For the second request regarding hours requested of the Board Attorney to
attend a meeting regarding Policy 5756 as well as any discussions on
policies or curriculum pertaining to LGBTQ+ issues. A total of 2.10
billable hours were requested to have the board attorney attend a meeting.
