Council could approve, but attach conditions – such as paying a large escrow up front to cover all possible expenses, if it so desires.  Or it can deny, based on past experience.  Your call, of course.  Please do not reply all so we can avoid Open Public Meeting Act issues, but please let me know if you have any questions; otherwise we can discuss Thursday.  Thank you

Thanks Bill. Also let's touch base with the PD too. I think there may have been a couple issues with the second event as well. I know they wanted to extend past 8 pm, but that did not happen.

Hello All:

Just a heads up. On May 18th I received and distributed to all necessary departments a Special Event application from Edgar Morales for a Festival & Jaripeo to be held on June 19th at the Livestock Auction Market property.

As you recall last year we approved two applications, I believe the first was on Mother's Day and the second on Father's Day.

Couple of points:

-current application submitted with only 30 days for review not the required 60 days.

-last year with the second event, collection of final payment for the balance due after the event was very difficult. Phone calls were made, emails sent, letters certified and regular were sent with no success. Finally summonses were issued by the Police Department and I believe they did not show in court so an FTA was issued and finally a bench warrant. Only then did Mr. Morales come in and pay the balance due.

Regards,

Bill
