Dear Middlesex County,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

Dear Leroy,
The Middlesex County Sheriff's Office is in receipt of your request under
the state's Open Public Records Act regarding "All reports of Special
Sheriff/School Resource Officer or whatever it's called of George Bistany
involving misconduct in the Middlesex County Magnant Schools."
Under OPRA, “personnel records” are generally exempt and my only be
disclosed if the records sought fit within one of the statutory exceptions
set forth in N.J.S.A. 47:1A–10. Wolosky v. Borough of Washington, No.
A-4884-15T3, 2017 WL 5507958, at *2 (App. Div. 2017).
Specifically, records that can be produced include “an individual's name,
title, position, salary, payroll record, length of service, date of
separation and the reason therefor, and the amount and type of any pension
received shall be a government record” and “educational or medical
qualifications required for government employment or for receipt of a
public pension, but not including any detailed medical or psychological
information, shall be a government record.” N.J.S.A. 47:1A–10.
Your request for reports pertaining to an employee is exempt under the
personnel records exemption.
