FOIA Request
Dear Piscataway Township Police Department,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I am requesting the officers narrative and the BWC and in vehicle footage of an arrest on 1-5-2025 at approx 12:30 responding to Walmart to a call about a toddler alone in the parking lot.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Good afternoon,
Attached you will find the document(s) responsive to your OPRA request
which was received and processed by our office on November 3^rd.
Please note, redactions have been made pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1, which
requires that a public agency safeguard from disclosure a citizen’s
personal identifying information when disclosure thereof would violate the
citizen’s reasonable expectation of privacy, as well as N.J.S.A. 2A:4A-60,
which requires that a public agency safeguard from disclosure any
references or identifying information for a juvenile. In addition to that,
redactions were made to the arrest report pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-3.b,
which states that the following information contained within the arrest
report must be disclosed: defendant's name, age, residence, occupation,
marital status, time and place of arrest, text of the charges, arresting
agency, identity of the arresting personnel, amount of bail and whether it
was posted. Any additional information is to be redacted.
