Field Sobriety testing records of Police

We're waiting for Kenneth Vercammen to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear New Brunswick City,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

1. Police department training materials for each any field sobriety "test" usually given to individuals under suspicion of DWI including manuals, lesson plans, texts, tests, and article reprints kept by the police.

2 Many departments rely on the NHTSA Manuals dealing with field sobriety. If your department relies on these manuals, please advise in writing the website link to the specific manual relied on by your police department

3. Documents, which set forth your police department’s policy on accommodating person’s with physical disabilities who are requested by police to perform the field sobriety, test of walk and turn

4. Documents, which set forth your police department’s policy on accommodating person’s with physical disabilities who are requested by police to perform the field sobriety, test of finger to nose.

5. Documents which set forth your police department’s policy on accommodating person’s with physical disabilities who are requested by police to perform other field sobriety tests, such as the one legged stand.

6. Documents, which set forth procedures for officers in your police Department to achieve certification or recognition as a DRE.

7. The most recent training manual for Field Sobriety Testing by your police department

8. The NHTSA Manuals dealing with field sobriety in possession of police.

9. Documents from NHTSA dealing with field sobriety tests in possession of police

10. Documents from NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety dealing with field sobriety tests in possession of police

11. Documents involving HGN testing

12. 7110 Any other Operator Manuals in possession of police
