Exxon Car Wash Agreements and Student Safety Instructions
Dear Brick Township School District,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested: I request electronic copies of the following government records concerning school-affiliated car washes and fundraising activities conducted at the Exxon station located at 181 Drum Point Road, Brick, New Jersey 08723, at the intersection of Drum Point Road and Hooper Avenue:
1. A copy of the agreement currently in effect concerning the use of this Exxon property for car washes or fundraising activities involving Brick Township Public Schools students, athletic teams, clubs, employees, coaches, advisors, parents, volunteers, booster organizations, or other school-affiliated participants.
If no agreement is currently in effect, please provide the agreement, property-use authorization, permission letter, approval, application, or other written arrangement most recently used or relied upon for such an event at this location.
2. A copy of the current written instructions, rules, guidelines, safety requirements, or directions provided to students and participating adults for these events.
If no instructions are currently in effect, please provide the instructions most recently distributed or used.
This request specifically includes any instruction or record stating whether students or adults are authorized, directed, permitted, prohibited, or restricted from:
* standing at the corners of Drum Point Road and Hooper Avenue;
*standing at the corners of Drum Point Road and Cherry Quay Road;
* standing in or entering a roadway, traffic lane, shoulder, median, crosswalk, driveway entrance, or other area used by motor vehicles;
* approaching stopped or moving vehicles;
* holding cans, buckets, signs, or other containers while requesting or collecting monetary donations from motorists; or
* obstructing or otherwise affecting the normal movement of traffic.
3. A copy of the current or most recently used map, diagram, site plan, traffic plan, or other written record identifying where students and participating adults are permitted or expected to stand while advertising the event or collecting donations.
4. A copy of the fundraiser application, activity approval, event authorization, or similar district approval for the most recent school-affiliated car wash or fundraising event held at this Exxon location.
Student names and other information specifically protected from disclosure may be redacted rather than withholding an otherwise responsive record in its entirety.
This request seeks existing, specifically identified records. It does not ask the district to answer questions, conduct an investigation, or create a new record.
If no responsive record exists for a numbered item, please state that no responsive record is maintained for that specific item.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.
Yours faithfully,
Belligerent Jay
