Ethics Ordinances

The request was successful.

Please accept this as my request for government records under both OPRA and the common law right of access. Thank you very much for your commitment to transparent government.

BACKGROUND:

The Local Finance Board publishes an on-line list of municipalities that have their own ethics boards. Totowa is on that list. But it looks to me as though Totowa used to have its own ethics board but enacted Ord. 06-2016 on April 26, 2016 that amended the Code to abolish the ethics board and confer jurisdiction over to the Local Finance Board. It appears, however, that the Local Finance Board doesn't know this and still believes that the Totowa Ethics Board exists and has jurisdiction over the Local Government Ethics Law. I'm trying to straighten this out.

RECORDS REQUESTED:

1. Ord. No. 10-91 that established the ethics board in 1991.

2. Ord. No. 06-2016 that amended Ord. No. 10-91
