Endowment Investments
Dear Rowan University Board of Trustees and Rowan University Foundation Board of Directors,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
The investment records for the endowments of both the Board of Trustees and the Rowan University Foundation Board. This request has been fulfilled in the past, I am simply requesting updated statistics. Past requests have provided a list of funds in which we are invested, the fund manager, and the specific amounts that are invested into them. I would like to see the same list as of the most recent date possible.

Rowan University received your request (below) for the investment records for the Rowan University and Rowan Foundation. Please be advised that Rowan University and Rowan Foundation are separate entities. Therefore, any OPRA request seeking information and/or documentation relating to Rowan Foundation must be addressed to that entity as Rowan University does not maintain, control or otherwise have authority over same. Please let me know if you need that contact information.
With regards to the portion of your request which is directed to the University, in order to answer we need to work with the investment management team on collecting the data and finalizing the final report. In order to do this, we need until June 4, 2024 to provide the response.
Unless we hear otherwise, we will assume there is no objection to our request.

Good afternoon,
Please accept this as Rowan's completed response to your May 17, 2024 OPRA request wherein you sought specific fund names, fund managers and market value of funds for the Rowan University Endowment Fund.
Attached is a report of all of the investments of Rowan University. Please be advised that Rowan University does not have an Endowment Fund. The report includes a "QE" or "Quasi Endowment" column which is only a reference to the longevity of the investment as opposed to a specific Endowment Fund. This is a full response to your OPRA request and Rowan will close this request unless you advise otherwise.
As you know, OPRA requires a response within seven business days. We agreed for the deadline to be extended until June, 4, 2024. The asset management team was able to provide the report sooner than we initially thought. As such, the report is being provided today, May 24, 2024.

Hello,
I wanted to follow up on whether you submitted an OPRA request to the Foundation. I let them know to keep an eye out for your request. Yesterday, I was advised that they did not receive anything from you.
As explained below, OPRA requests to the foundation must be submitted directly to the Foundation through John Zabinsky the Executive Director of the Foundation. I want to make sure you are aware that the Foundation cannot reply until you submit an OPRA request to them. If no OPRA request is submitted, it will be assumed that you are no longer pursuing the obtaining the information from the Foundation.
