Kristine:
So are you saying it’s fine with you, as Mayor, for others on the Council and with Borough affiliations to disparage the police department? And that it’s up to a resident to address it?
Just want to be clear with what you are saying.
If that is the case, I respectfully decline for the the following reasons:
1) Per the published “Guidelines for Public Comments at Glen Rock Council Meetings” comments should only be addressed to the Mayor and it also notes that this is a time for comments and not necessarily questions to the Mayor and Council.
2) Precedent has shown the Council regularly discusses “resident emails” as an agenda item. I know I am not the first resident that has emailed regarding this topic and I doubt I will be the last. Many, many residents are appalled by these
recent posts. Especially coming on the heels of the amazing GRPD response to the pandemic, the storm, etc.
3) I am currently being bullied and harassed for my stance in support of the police department, among other things, and I don’t feel safe leading this discussion with the Council.
Thank you,
Eileen

I have previously addressed this with our PD. They fully know where my support stands.
As to your suggestion - you are free to ask the question at the open public comment portion of the meeting.

And now THIS from a sitting Council member. I respectfully request an open discussion on the Council’s support of/ or lack thereof of our GR police department at the next open public meeting. I would like to know where our Council stands
on this issue.

Chief Ackermann and Mayor Morieko,
I’m sure by now this recent post in a new Glen Rock page has been brought to your attention. Would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this.
I join many others in our Glen Rock Community requesting the “poster” be removed immediately from any Borough-affiliated paid or volunteer positions.
