Hi All,

Lisa and I had a call this morning with Tom Scerbo (GR Arboretum) to discuss the plantings from the “Roots for Rivers” grant we collectively received earlier this year. You’ll remember it was for $4K+ and the planting was originally scheduled for the last week of March and then postponed due to COViD concerns.

The revised date for the planting is now late September.  The dense plantings will be on the north and west sides of the dog park.  One change is that we be using a small group of “professional volunteers”  rather than our community volunteers - again for Covid safety reasons.

In terms of watering, there’s a spigot available by the recycling center and now we also have one at the park. We’ll confirm an ongoing watering plan when the time comes.

Tom is following up to ensure the plants we ordered in the Spring are still available for us.

Please let Lisa or I know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Eileen

Tom - would it make sense for us to jump on a quick call to discuss plan for plantings/volunteers? Eileen also wanted to discuss the idea of a path from arboretum to the park and the impact on the plantings.

Let me know If you have time this week. Thanks!
