With our new sign ordinances written with scenarios like this in mind, we now allow for a 24” sign that would essentially fill the historic sign band (like Paint Party next door) which looks much better than the 18” sign they submitted (see my examples)…. I also think the location is so perfect for a blade sign so I drew up what that could look like (not the design but the concept - see photo attached).

I reached out to the owners (Dave & Ally and cc’d them on this email for transparency) and they were amenable to the suggestions but said their landlord has reservations.

I’d like to approve their submission as is but also allow them (should they be able to convince their landlord) to improve on the application by increasing the sign size to 24” high with scaled logo and width (see my photoshop examples below) and resubmitting design for a blade at which time they get landlord approval.

Would you all be ok with that?
