Dear Sir/Madam:

I am in receipt of your email below requesting documents under OPRA. Due to the voluminous nature of your request, a special service charge will have to be accessed in order to produce and review the requested documents. I have been advised that it will take approximately 16 hours to review all the documents and redact any information allowed by law. The City will require a 50% deposit for the lowest employee's salary capable doing the work at a rate of $54.37. The 50% deposit required will be $434.96. Once that deposit is received, the search, review and redaction of these documents will commence. If you do not wish to pursue all or a portion of this request, please advise.

Time to Change- Jersey Style

Dear Cindy Dye,

In the interest of finding a reasonable solution to processing my OPRA request, I'm requesting the Police Department could waive the special service charge if an extension of ninety (90) days in order to accommodate the interests of both the requester and the agency.

Yours sincerely,

To whom it may concern:

I appreciate your email and your interest in finding a reasonable solution to processing your OPRA request. However, the suggested extension of time does not change the amount of hours which we anticipate will actually and reasonably be required to be expended by police personnel in order to review and respond to this voluminous request. As such, the 50% deposit in the amount of $434.96 will still be required in order to start processing this request. The remainder of the amount will be due at the time the documents are complete and ready to be released. Of course, if there is an adjustment of time (whether higher or lower), due to the actual amount of hours expended, this will be computed at the completion of the request and the remaining amount due will be adjusted accordingly.

Sincerely,

Cindy A. Dye, RMC
