This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I certify under penalty of NJSA 2C:28-3 that I have not been convicted of an indictable offense. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
1. I seek your police department’s Internal Affairs Annual Summary Reports for years 2014 to 2017.
2. I seek a copy of the police department's Public Synopsis of Disciplinary Actions for years 2014 to 2017. This report is required pursuant to Requirement 10 of the Attorney General’s Internal Affairs Police.
3. I seek a copy of the police department’s Vehicular Pursuit Summary Reports for years 2014 to 2017.
4. I would like all of your police department’s Use of Force Reports from January 1, 2014 to present date.
5. I would like all of your police department’s Police Use of Deadly Force Attorney General Deadly Notification Reports for years 2014 to 2017.
6. I seek the annual basic police academy training, annual firearms requalification training, use of force training, vehicular pursuit training, domestic violence training, cultural diversity training, bias intimidation crimes training, Breathalyzer training, 911 dispatcher and call-taker training, K-9 training recertification certificates for all of the police officers in your police department for the year 2017.

The Vernon Twp. Police Dept. received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA)
request on November 20, 2017. You granted a 30 day extension to this
request on November 29, 2017. As such, the Vernon police is responding to
your request prior to the end of the 30 day extension.
Your request seeks:
1. Police Department Internal Affairs Annual Summary Reports for the
years 2014 to 2017.
2. Copy of Police Department’s Public Synopsis of Disciplinary
Actions for years 2014 to 2017.
3. Copy of the Police Department’s Vehicular Pursuit Summary Reports
for years 2014 to 2017.
4. Police Departments Use of Force Reports from January 1, 2014 to
present date.

In response to #1, the Police department has provided you with Internal
Affairs Annual Summary reports for the years 2014 to 2016. The records
for 2017 do not exist.
In response to #2, the records do not exist.
In response to #3, the Police Department has provided you with Vehicular
Pursuit Summary reports for the years 2014 to 2016. The records for 2017
do not exist.
In response to #4, The Police Department has provided you with Use of
force reports from January 1, 2014 to the present date. These records
have been redacted in accordance with New Jersey law. Redactions have
been made to remove the following:
- Names of juveniles
- Information relating to a person’s medical, psychiatric or
psychological history, treatment, or evaluation
- Confidential, personal identifiers
- Names of domestic violence victims.
In response to #5, the records do not exist.
In response to #6, the Police Department has provided you with 2017
training records for Use of force training, Domestic Violence Training,
Vehicle Pursuit Training and Firearms requalification Training records.
All other records requested in #6 do not exist.
With receipt of this email your OPRA request has been deemed fulfilled.
