Good afternoon,

Please be advised that I have reviewed the documents contained in the link
you provided and wish to inform you of the following:

Your request was acknowledged as received and processed on January 29,
2020 via TAXC-20-0024 by Ms. Jeannette Ramos within the same email where
it states that it was not opened.  Attached is a copy of the
acknowledgement containing the file reference no.   Your response also
indicated that an anticipated date for a reply and or status to your
request was February 14, 2020.

Documents requested from OPRA are obtained from the agency that
created/maintains the records -  due to COVID 19 and people leaving the
office sick, we encountered a backlog in filling and processing OPRA
requests.   The city has been operating with the bare minimum services
from March through June 12^th in some offices and others have been
closed.  The city has just resumed partial operations the week of June
15^th and has limited staff in its departments/divisions.  Rest assured
that we will try our best to move forward with processing the pending
requests as well as new, however, with the current level of limited
resources that we have, it is going to take some time to review all files.

I have searched your file and a response from the Tax Collector is still
pending.  You are welcomed to call their office at 973-733-8099 to inquire
on your request – please ensure that you provide the file number
TAXA-20-0024 when calling.   Last but not least, please be advised that
the current anticipated date for a response to requests is August 31,
2020.

I am writing to request an internal review of Newark City's handling of my

i never received any further correspondence after the reply by the City of
Newark  that the original request was never opened.  I appreciate if this
matter can be resolved before review.
