Cybersecurity information
Dear Piscataway Township,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
* Name and current contract of the vendor providing cybersecurity training for Township employees
* Township's cybersecurity incident response plan
* Name and current contract of the vendor providing off-network daily incremental backups
Yours faithfully,
Brian Rak
Your OPRA request was received by this office on 06/15/2021 and is
currently being processed.
P.L. 2020, c.10 provides that OPRA’s statutory deadlines do not apply for
the duration of a Governor-declared state of emergency pursuant to the
Disaster Control Act (N.J.S.A. App.A.9-33 et seq.) or a public health
emergency under the Emergency Health Powers Act (N.J.S.A. 26:13-1 et
seq.), or when a state of local disaster emergency is declared by a county
or by a municipality.
Thank you,
Your OPRA request requires additional time beyond the seven (7) business
days to fulfill because [insert reasons why, such as request size, records
are in storage, records require extensive medium conversion, etc.] OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5.i. Specifically, OPRA states that, “the requestor shall be
advised by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the
record is not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
Your request requires an extension of time until June 30, 2021.

Dear Monica Orlando,
Could you elaborate about the part "[insert reasons why, such as request size, records
are in storage, records require extensive medium conversion, etc.] "? I suspect you intended to fill that in, but forgot.
Yours sincerely,
Brian Rak
My apologies.
Your OPRA request requires additional time beyond the seven (7) business
days to fulfill because of legal review of the OPRA response and potential
responsive documents. OPRA allows custodians to seek extensions of time
pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.i. Specifically, OPRA states that, “the
requestor shall be advised by the custodian when the record can be made
available. If the record is not made available by that time, access shall
be deemed denied.”
Your request requires an extension of time until June 30, 2021.

1) Name and current contract of the vendor providing
cyber security training for Township employees
The vendor name is D2 Cybersecurity. The Township does not have a contract
with the vendor as these services are provided through the Central Jersey
Joint Insurance Fund (CJJIF).
2) Township's cyber security incident response plan
This document is excepted from OPRA under the following exemptions, and
therefore will not be provided:
Administrative or technical information regarding
computer hardware, software and networks which, if disclosed would
jeopardize computer security; and
Emergency or security information or procedures for
any buildings or facility which, if disclosed, would jeopardize
security of the building or facility or persons therein.
3) Name and current contract of the vendor providing
off-network daily incremental backups
The Township currently uses Symantec and Dell EMC Hardware. The
off-network daily incremental backups are managed by in house IT staff and
therefore there is no vendor providing same.
Your request is now closed.
Thank you
