Current PBA and SOA police contracts plus total rank-and-file officers and supervisors by rank

We're waiting for Concerned Citizen to read a recent response and update the status.

Concerned Citizen

This is a request for government records under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., and the common law right of access. I am not required to use an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this request.

Records requested:

1. The current collective negotiations agreement (also known as the collective bargaining agreement or contract) between the municipality and the Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) local representing rank-and-file police officers.

2. The current collective negotiations agreement (also known as the collective bargaining agreement or contract) between the municipality and the Superior Officers Association (SOA) or any other bargaining unit representing police supervisors, if it is separate from the PBA agreement listed above. If there is no separate SOA or supervisors’ agreement, please so state.

3. Any document(s) or records that show the total number of rank-and-file police officers currently employed by the municipal police department (or the most recent available count).

4. Any document(s) or records that show the total number of police supervisors currently employed by the municipal police department, broken down by each rank (e.g., Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, Chief, or equivalent ranks used by the department) (or the most recent available counts).

These requests include contracts, which are entitled to immediate access under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(e). Please provide the records in electronic format (PDF preferred) if available.

If any portion of this request is denied, please cite the specific OPRA exemption(s) relied upon and release all segregable non-exempt portions.
