County Superintendent's office communication records
Dear Mercer County,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
Any recorded communications, written or otherwise, regarding the topic of Robbinsville school district aka township of robbinsville, aka "Rville" or "RPS", aka Robbinsville public schools, and regarding the topic of robbinsville's special election or public question. Sent or received by/to anyone in the office of the Executive County Superintendent of Mercer County between the dates of 1/1/2025 and the date of this request 1/29/2026.

RE: PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST of January 29, 2026, Reference # R008440-012926
Dear Sir/Madam:
This office serves as the custodian of records for the
County of Mercer under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA). We
are in receipt of your recent request for government records pertaining to
the above subject. Please accept the following response to same.
Please be advised your request is denied, as it is XXXXXXXXX. The County
is not required to conduct research, or create records, in response to an
OPRA request. See, MAG Entertainment, LLC, 375 N.J. Super. 534 (App. Div.
2005). OPRA “… is not intended as a research tool… to force government
officials to identify and siphon useful information.” Lagerkvist v. Office
of the Governor, 443 N. J. Super. 203 (App. Div. 2015). In addition, a
request for “any” or “all” government records is an improper request under
OPRA. See, Spectraserv, Inc., 416 N.J. Super. 565 (App. Div. 2010). With
respect to emails, more specificity is required, including: content and/or
subject; sender; recipient. See generally, Elcavage v. West Milford
Township, GRC Complaint No. 2009 – 07 (April 2010).
Please call me with any questions. Thank you.
Yours truly,
Paul R. Adezio
Mercer County Counsel
