Ms. Laurence,

As you are aware I am the Business Administrator for the Pinelands
Regional Board of Education (the “Board”) which conducts and supervises
the schools of the Pinelands Regional School District (the “District”).
As the official records custodian for the District, I received your OPRA
request dated April 16, 2021.  The seven (7) business days to respond to
your request is April 27, 2021.  Your request sought the following:

“all correspondence from Chantel Temple and the following Pinelands
Regional Administrative staff as listed; Melissa McCooley, Nicholas Brown,
Troy Henderson,  Matthew Maleski, and Amy Nass, as well as and including
Board of Education members as listed; President Thomas Williams, Vice
President August Daleo, Patricia Chambers, Karen Poklikhua, Betti Anne
McVey, Christie Palladino, Raymond Bartlett, Kim Hanadel, and Thomas
Rosetti, between the dates of February 3rd through April 16th, 2021.”

I am writing to notify you that the District will require
an extension of time until May 17, 2021.  This extension is necessary due
to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.  In addition an extension is necessary
to allow time to determine if the District is still in possession of
documents related to your request.  Furthermore, the District will have to
review any said documents to determine if they are subject to OPRA. I will
also be out of District beginningMay 5 and returning May 10, 2021. OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5.i.  Specifically, OPRA states that, “the requestor shall be
advised by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the
record is not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
Custodians must notify the  requestor in writing, within the statutorily
mandated seven (7) business days and provide an anticipated deadline date
upon which the records will be provided.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this
time.

Sincerely,

Nicholas K. Brown
