Dear Colts Neck Township School District,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

A copy of the cleared security list obtained from federal administration or federal state or local law enforcement of people that were allowed and cleared to be 1) In the school during the period of time that Secretary of Education Linda McMahon was present; 2) at the special board meeting which took place at the Cedar Drive Middle School in Colts Neck NJ on December 5, 2025 and; 3) the History Rocks assembly that took place at the school on that same date.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

For purposes of this request, the term “document” includes, but is not limited to, any written, recorded, or electronic material regardless of physical form or characteristics. This encompasses:

Paper records such as letters, memoranda, reports, notes, drafts, and forms.

Electronic records including emails, text messages, instant messages, chat logs, digital files, databases, spreadsheets, PDFs, and other electronic communications.

Audio and visual records such as recordings, videos, photographs, or images.

Graphic or pictorial materials including charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, and plans.

Metadata and attachments associated with electronic communications or files.

Any other tangible or intangible medium containing information that is prepared, owned, received, or used by the public agency in the conduct of its official business.

The definition is intended to be interpreted broadly, to include all forms of records in the possession, custody, or control of the agency, regardless of format or location.

Yours faithfully,

Michael Gottesman, Founder NJPEC
