Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Copy of any documents, petitions of requests submitted to the Cherry Hill Board of Education or Cherry Hill School district relating to the LifeWise Academy Release Time program or any other release time program.

Please note that the word “document(s)” shall be described broadly and includes any written, printed or electronically transmitted words including but not limited to emails, letters, faxes, text messages, transcriptions, videos and/or audio recordings.

Dear Cherry Hill Board of Education,

On December 4, 2024, I sent you an OPRA request. It is copied below. A response was due by December 13, 2024

Under the OPRA law, the custodian must respond to an OPRA request "as soon as possible," but generally requestor must receive a response within seven (7) business days after receipt of a complete request. If the custodian fails to respond to the requestor within seven (7) business days after receiving a request, or other applicable statutory time frame, the failure to respond will be deemed a denial of the request.

Since you have failed to respond, I consider this an improper denial of the request and you are now in violation of the OPRA law. This leaves me with no choice but to:
1) file suit in Superior Court; or
2) file a complaint with the [GRC].

If I do not receive a response by Friday, December 20, 2024 by 4:00 PM, I will have no choice but to seek my remedies at which point you will need to enter a defense. This will no doubt cost your taxpayers and force you to use funds designated to education students to enter a defense instead.
