Dear Haledon Borough,
Subject: Re: OPRA Request - [Insert Original Request Subject or Tracking Number] - Extension Request
I must reiterate that the records I am requesting fall under the category of "immediate access" records, as defined in N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(e). This statute mandates that for records not exceeding twenty-four (24) months old, the custodian must respond "immediately" with the requested information.
Therefore, a two-week extension is not permissible under the provisions of N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(e).
I respectfully request that you provide the responsive records immediately, as required by law. Please confirm receipt of this email and provide an estimated time for the immediate disclosure of the requested documents.
If you believe there is a legitimate reason why these records do not fall under the "immediate access" category, please provide a detailed explanation citing the specific statutory exemption you believe applies.
I look forward to your immediate compliance with my OPRA request.
Yours faithfully,
Paul

Can you please be more specific from your original request so we can fulfill properly.

Dear Joanne Van Hook,
My request is very clear and not broad.
I asked for a copy of the contract you have with Property Room Consulting
I asked for the RFP or RFQ that was issued for the work that is to be done by Property Room Consulting.
These are documents which are required to award a contract.
Please stop stonewalling me and provide the records because, at this point, the length of time that has gone by is unacceptable.
Yours sincerely,
Paul

Dear Mounir Almaita, RMC,
I am requesting clarification.
On 2/11/25
The chief of police responded that I could not be provided with records because they are covered under the security exemption.
On 3/25/25 you send me a letter stating that the records do not exist.
Based on the first letter, it is saying that they exist but cannot be disclosed.
I am requesting clarification: are there records responsive or not?
This request has been going on since November, and this is not within the spirit of the OPRA Law.
I expect an immediate answer to my question
Paul
Good afternoon,
This OPRA is being handled through the Police Department, we have contacted them with your question and they will be responding to it. Once we receive it we will response back to you.
