Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I am requesting access to government records related to Wallkill Valley Regional High School’s compliance with P.L. 2018, c. 5 (commonly referred to as the “Pass the Trash Law”).

Specifically, I am requesting the following records:

1. Documentation demonstrating that, for all individuals hired by the district between January 1, 2022 and March 1, 2026, the district obtained information related to allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct as required by P.L. 2018, c. 5.

2. Copies of completed State of New Jersey Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Release forms, or any substantially similar district-created forms, utilized to secure this information for new hires during the specified time period.

3. Any logs, checklists, or internal tracking documents maintained by the district indicating compliance with the statutory pre-employment review requirements under P.L. 2018, c. 5.

4. Any policies, procedures, or guidance documents in effect during this period that outline the district’s process for complying with the “Pass the Trash Law” hiring requirements.

If any portion of these records contains personally identifiable information or is otherwise exempt from disclosure, I request that such information be redacted and the remaining records be provided.
