communications request regarding Green Acres compliance in Camden NJ
Dear New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
All communications including but not limited to emails, text messages, letters, voicemails, meeting minutes, or recording video calls from January 2023 to present between NJ DEP staff (or their supervisors) and members of the public, city of Camden staff, county of Camden staff, and Rutgers University regarding Green Acres compliance matters in the city of Camden referenced in the email and letter noted below.
Please note: DEP staff person, Jessica Patterson, sent an email to a member of the public on March 14th, 2023 at 10:14am stating the following:
"Judeth let me know that you reached out to our office through the 1/24/23 stakeholder meeting and followed up via the 3/3/23 email below. I want to thank you for your continued advocacy on these public access issues within Camden City. I continue to cover Camden County and am still working on these issues. As a result of our past communications, our office conducted extensive research into the City’s parklands. This research illuminated a number of issues throughout the City including, but not limited to, Rutgers Camden Community Park and Johnson Park. We will be reaching out to the City this spring to discuss these matters in detail and the City’s parks are up for inspection later this year. I wanted to let you know that your concerns did not go unheard but led to a bigger research project that took some time to conduct. I also recently briefed Kandyce Perry, DEP’s Director of Environmental Justice, on these matters. I will provide you with a copy of the letter to the City once it goes out."
